One week

This is how it happens. What started as a daily check in with myself has sputtered and coughed its way to one post in a week. So I have some decisions to make I guess. If this is worth doing, it’ll need to get back on track.

By Friday of last week the term “backslide” was front and center. The less I wrote the less I wanted to. It made me think about dieting of all things and how easy any good habit can fizzle away in one week.

I could fill this post with all the cliches like “fall down 10 times, get up 11” and the like because mostly they are true. Things like momentum are a real thing and most everything can be re started. Thank god.

For the last couple of months I’ve been pretty aware of the idea that most great ideas are simple ideas and that we need to hear them over and over and over. This is how a big idea moves from small to big to cliche.

Cliches get a bad wrap. Just because thing get said over and over and ring true most of the time doesn’t make them less than. It makes them solid reminders on how to get things done.

Every day you do get a chance to start over. To take the best intention of last week and give it another go. What detailed you? How can you avoid it? For me it’s just about recommitting.

Last week I forgot about writing. I didn’t make the space for it and therefore it didn’t get done.

This week I’m going to make space and give it another go.

Early bird gets the worm or some shit.
