THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM.

Have you ever considered how precise a step must be for you to split the space between your toes around a bed frame? I mean a step, usually in the cover of some form of darkness so precise that the space between your pinky toe and the ring toe hits a verticals shaft of metal, UNDER the bed.  I only considered it because this morning I somehow hit the side of my shin not once but twice when walking by a table. This smack wasn’t nearly as painful as that bending back of the pinky toe but it reminded me of it and here we are.

What’s really interesting is that this step of extreme chance, while seemingly statistically impossible is familiar enough that I can describe it and you know what I am talking about. Interesting or maybe just bizarre. Regardless. You knew.

I bet that it’s even a cross cultural phenomenon and that my friend in Poland has also nearly ripped off a toe in the cover of darkness while innocently walking to the kitchen in the morning. It’s called shared experiences. I think they happen simultaneously and originally all over the world. I’d say it’s also how we learn things at the same time but that sounds a little too much like social anthropology (is that a thing) which sounds almost like science, and well outside my pay grade.

Some mornings I wonder how my brain jumps to these things. It’s usually best to let it ride. A no blood, no foul situation. I mean even when these things lean heavily to the side of ridiculousness, they have a a little value. A break from the day before it starts or mid morning pick me up. I mean C+C Music Factory wasted 5:23 of our lives over and and over again with “Things that Make You Go HMMMMM” in 1991. Far be it from me to not do a land grab of 4-5 mins of your time this morning.

Here’s to hoping your pinky toes survived the trip to the bathroom or kitchen this morning and here’s to 1991 terrible music. Maybe grunge wasn’t as much of an over correction as we thought it was. Maybe it was just a reaction to C+C music factory and Arsenio Hall’s suits?

Kurt Cobain and Freedom Williams both probably hit their toes on a bed frame.

HMMMMM.
